San Jose Sharp – Make Sure You Don’t Pay For More Than You Use
A quality copier company will develop a fair contract, but it is unrealistic to believe that one would present themselves against unlimited liability such as unlimited prints/copies. Any copier company that would allow unlimited prints for an unchanged price per month will not be in business long. It does not make much business sense. Take a look at the hypothetical averages below:
- Supplies – $.007 per print for the copier company at $.01 per print for the customer.
- Service – $.003-$.005 per print for the copier company at $.004-$.007 per print for the customer.
- The total would be $.01-$.012 per print for the copier company at $.014-$.017 per print to the customer.
Imagine this, you print an average of 5,000 pages per month, but the copier representative would suggest supplies, maintenance, and prints for up to 7,000 pages per month. The representative implies that you never have to worry about overage charges. If you agree, you paid for an extra 2,000 pages that you never use at $.014 per print for 5 years. This is all profit for the copier representative because you have never used the pages. This actually costs the copier company $3,000 and it costs the customer $5,880.
