Despite what 3rd party Xerox representatives may say, there is always a minimum and an overage of prints. Take a look at these 3 useful things that you should know:
- Copier representatives get commission for every contract they get signed. This basically means that they get paid based on the size of the contract.
- Unlimited pages are not realistic. If your normal volume is 2,000 a month for a year or something, and your organization started doing 30,000 a month, the vendor would start raising the rates immediately. The cost of the toner increases as well as the reams of paper. A copier running an output of 30,000 a month would lead to service and maintenance calls.
- Much like a phone company might do, a copier representative would build a contract that is designed to protect their bottom line, or limit their exposure to risks. Having a contract that allowed unlimited prints and copies would increase their liabilities. In many cases, a copier representative will design the contract so that you absorb all the risks and unknown liabilities under the fine print.
