The truth is that the copier businesses are always seeking sales, and leasing companies are in the market for new business. Together they work out an arrangement in which the copier business is exempted from some payments in exchange for another long-term lease.

Before making the offer, the copier corporation reviews the lease to see how much is left on the equipment. If possible, they enfold the amount into a new lease and keep it below retail. The copier company then approaches the manufacturer to check specials. Instead of offering the savings to you, the company claims it to finish the remaining payments. This means you end up paying more and being tied in to a lease longer. Keeping this in mind, it’s a good idea to skip the free upgrade of your San Jose copier and just go with a new one.
