Keeping a Clean Copier

We have seen that a lot of times people take for granted the cleanliness of their copier. They don’t seem to see that keeping it regularly maintained will insure that the copier will have a long life, and a long life that will be satisfactory for them. Keeping their copier clean will allow them to eliminate a lot of potential problems and make sure that they have a more reliable copier than they otherwise might have. It’s not enough to just have the technician come in every so often and give it a check up, you have to take care of your copier on a regular basis.

Simple things like turning the copier off when it won’t be getting used over the weekend, and keeping it covered will keep dust build up off of the machine. Putting a cheesecloth over the air intake will also keep dust out of the inside of the coper. Simply wiping the optic area off will keep prints looking cleaner and will eliminate dirt and grime build up. Another trick is to keep a silica gel packet in the paper tray so that moisture won’t build up in your machine.
